What is Virtual Reality (VR)?
Virtual reality is an immersive interactive computer simulation, visual, sound and/or haptic, representing real or imaginary environments.
The objective of virtual reality is to offer a person (or several) a sensory and cognitive activity in an artificial world, created digitally.
Virtual Reality in the building
In the building sector, this virtual reality can be created “from scratch”, or based on data acquired through the use of 3D scanners, drones or cameras for example.
The acquired data (point clouds, panoramic photos, photos) being exploited to produce representations of reality used as immersive environments. These can have different formats (BIM digital model, virtual visits, and other 3D renderings).
The uses around virtual reality could be very varied (maintenance, audit, valuation of real estate, etc.). The best known being that of the virtual visit of real estate.
