What is a BIM object?

A BIM object is a digital representation of a building element in 3 dimensions. It is characterized by its geometry, which will make it possible to identify its physical aspect, but also by its informative properties (e.g. material property, lifespan, etc.).

A BIM digital model will be composed of a multitude of BIM objects.

Qu’est-ce qu’un objet BIM ?

Un objet BIM est une représentation numérique d’un élément du bâtiment en 3 dimensions. Il se caractérise pas sa géométrie, qui permettra d’identifier son aspect physique, mais aussi par ses propriétés informatives (ex : propriété des matériaux, durée de vie, etc.).

Une maquette numérique BIM sera composée d’une multitude d’objets BIM.
