Context and needs

In France, B&B HOTELS is in full growth and is preparing to reach the milestone of 400 establishments. As part of this dynamic expansion, the brand is investing in the acquisition of existing hotels. These establishments are then renovated, brought up to standards and adapted to the image of B&B HOTELS, in order to ensure a coherent customer experience in accordance with the brand's standards.

Faced with these simultaneous projects, the company identified an essential need for documentation. Indeed, to effectively manage several large-scale renovations, it is essential to have reliable 2D plans, serving as accurate and reference data for each project.

The challenges

The brand is facing a challenge: the available plans are outdated, incomplete or difficult to read, complicating the planning of renovations. In this context, the brand asked My Digital Buildings. The project, launched in 2023, aims to produce plans for 14 hotels, of various sizes (from 44 to 126 rooms). These hotels, spread across France, illustrate the national scope of this collaboration between B&B HOTELS and My Digital Buildings.

By opting for modeling based on the point cloud, centimetric precision could be ensured, both for level plans and facade plans. By following this process, vertical and horizontal sections of the point cloud are used as layers when drawing plans.

This method ensures a faithful representation of the architecture of the buildings and what they contain. In this way, renovation projects can be initiated on a sound basis, especially for areas that require particular attention in the design.

For example, elements and equipment related to the accessibility of PMRs have been represented with great precision, to ensure the design of works that comply with current standards.
